July 2026: Update to Ordering Clinician Selection in eOrdering

Following several incidents involving orders being inappropriately placed on behalf of clinicians from other facilities, the eOrdering system will be updated to enforce controls preventing the selection of clinicians from differing facilities than where a user is currently accessing from. 

The following changes will apply when creating new orders:

• Ordering Clinician selection will be limited to those that Awanui Labs has associated with the ordering location provided by the user’s Patient Management System (PMS).
• Users will not be able to place orders on behalf of clinicians at facilities other than the one identified by their PMS.
• New requesters or clinicians moving practices must contact Awanui Labs to be registered at that location. They will no longer be able to select themselves at previously associated facilities.
• When searching for clinicians, the system will automatically show a list of clinicians from the facility provided by the PMS

Copying results to clinicians at other facilities is still permitted and remains unchanged.
